Just Curious: ProTools 6.4 Usability Survey

My experience has been exactly the opposite in every regard with 6.4, 6.1 really stinks by comparison on my system. 6.4 = stable, solid, and bug-less for me.

My 6.4 really lagged until I went through a list of tweaks I got from Karel Bata..Now it runs good..Sorry I can't give you the link, he sent it to me in an email and I have lost it.Maybe someone else has it.

Hmm.. that's interesting. I'd like to get that list of tweaks. Now by tweaks, do you mean some changes in the preferences section? Or Operating System tweaks? I didn't keep the 6.4 running long enough to determine if the lag was created by a system load, or just protools 'waiting' for something, like a midi clock sync. -Neil G.

I would say I took a little bit of a hit from 6.1 to 6.4 but not much. Karel could you post what you gave to bazz?

6.4 works great for me, on XP and Mac OS X 10.3.3 and 10.3.4. My only real gripe is the silly plugin organizer - it was short-sighted not to included an interface for properly assigning mis-categorized plugins.

I haven't recorded or mixed much since I got PTLE 6.4, but I haven't noticed any changes I don't like. And I'm still running my stone age machine

I too have had no trouble with either, Very Good here. Quite like the new plug menu, just takes time to remember where everything is.
