its not unknown for cats to waz on cars, also i remember hearing somewhere about a rotting fish smell and a company who sanitises airconditioning systems in cars

If it goes off after a while it most probably is the AC system. The musty odor drom the AC system varies in the strength of the smell. This depends on how much mold is in the system. It could also be that the cabin filter need changing as it too could be contaminated by the smelly air from the AC system. I have read that Volvo has a new drain valve design that might stop or reduce this AC odor.

I worked for a garage once. The customer was quite rude at the service counter. The guys who worked on his car got an old sponge, soaked it in oil and dog ****, and placed it in his scuttle. He was constantly coming back complaining of the smell. Sweet memories of the guys I once worked with!
I used to run a valeting company and one of the unsavoury problems we had from time to time was foul air from customer's air con systems, usually because owners switch off the a/c over the winter which allows bacteria to grow in the moisture present in the system during wet months. If a proprietary a/c anti-bacterial spray clears up the problem then just never, ever, turn off the a/c again :lightbulb:
