stop receiving while recording

I just got the demo and an very happy with it except that when I record onto the second track it also records the signal from the first track,i plan on buying the license in a week,how can I or what am I doing wrong,thank you for your assistance.ReggieV

The good news ... others have done this and it has been sroted out. It sounds like the first track is playing back, going out to your audio interface, then that audio is being mixed with the audio you want to record on your second track. Could that be it? Can you give us more details of your setup, how it's configured and the steps you are taking which result in the problem?

well,that sounds great! so it shouldnt be that hard to fix then,my config is/in the audio pref,i have the directsound audio system driver and my creative sound blaster in and outputs,my asio seem to be nonfunctional and my wave out does the same thing,the primary drivers works well,but even that seems to have the same effect,what am i doing wrong,i get great sound out and in but the 1st track is still being mixed with my recording. Can you tell me what i can do with this situation,because I dont have this problem with Sonar on my other computer with WIN ME,since ive brought one with XP reaper is the one that i really like and would serve me purpose greatly. Is your SoundBlaster mixing the output played back from the first track with the input that you want to record on the second track? Perhaps you could compress a simple problem project file (no samples needed) into a ZIP file and post it here as an attachment so we can have a look at it and see what's (not) happening? In XP, right-click the project file, select Send To ... compressed (Zipped) folder). when you reply, scroll down a bit, open the "Additional Options" section if needed by clicking the double downwards arrows, click on [Manage Attachments], browse to your ZIP file, select and Upload it.

+1 to the advice above, sounds like something simple like that should sort it out. p.s. heavily recommend you get the ASIO setup working (check out the asio4all driver possibly - google for it or search the forums). latency with directsound is pretty painful.
