Can a Digi001 and a Digi002 \"talk\"

I have a Mac G4 733mHz running a Digi001 with PT 6.4 on OS 10.2.3 and all is well. I'm 2-clicks away from ordering a G5 and a Digi002 so I can sync the two computers/PT systems together via MTC and S/PDIF so I can celebrate 64 tracks/voices. I've done this with two Digi001's before and it's worked beautifully (give or take about 30 milliseconds of latency which I never did understand). I would guess that it would work no problem. But I'm just checking to see if anyone's tried this or knows of any problems (or if it just doesn't work at all - which would surprise me). I'm aware that the S/PDIF connection I used with the two Digi001's is for clocking them together. Can I even say it like that? If anyone has a clue, it's welcome here.

NO reason why it wouldn't, and there would be less latency than 30ms. We sync a Mackie HDR 24/96 PRO with an 001 using MMC/MTC and they sync perfectly. We've recorded live shows running over 2 hrs with two Mackie MDR's, and using the HDR for one set of 24 tracsk and PT for the other, they remained in perfect sync from beginning to end.

Yes they can. I've done this with a 001 and an MBox before, and I do it every day with Reason. I have three Macs here, and I'll usually run Reason on its own machine as if its a giant sound module. So yes, this is quite do-able. And Where is correct-- you should not be getting 30 m/s of latency-- that sounds a bit high. -Jeff PS- The notion that you'd like to 'celebrate' 64 tracks had me laughing my ***** off!
