Yes, I'd like to do that but I don't find this setting, neither in Preferences/Envelope Display nor Automation... Where is it?

Left click on the track control panel and it's in the menu as "Track Automation Mode".

But putting my track in Read or Trim/Read mode doesn't solve my problem : the envelope value doesn't show up during the playback. I used to have this behavior so I know it's possible...

Not sure what you mean by "envelope value". Are you talking about a display of a number somewhere?

OK. My bad. You mean hovering the mouse over the envelope display and seeing a read-out?

RE: Display envelope level during playback

Maybe clearer with an example. I display the volume envelope on a track. When reaper is not playing, if I roll over the envelope with my mouse I have little window showing up with this kind of info : "Envelope: Volume +1.41dB at 2571.02" Now I used to have the same window while playing, but now I can't have it (and I have to stop the playback to check my envelope level, really annoying...)

Thanks for the clarification. For me, it works the way you want it to and, unfortunately, I could not find any settings to change it. Sorry 'bout that. Hopefully, someone else can help.

Thanks for trying Dug Dog. For me it used to behave like that, that's why I'm sure I missed something. I hope somebody will help...

OK now I found the solution : if Reaper is in Continuous scrolling mode then the enveloppe value can't display during the playback. Disabling this mode solved my problem.
