Getting nowhere fast with garage repair

MessageAuthor

Dunno if anybody read my previous posts regarding my oil leak which i thought i had fixed installing a new flame trap and housing unit, but anyway turns out the leak is coming from a small crack in the head which the mechanic said he could not repair after trying several O rings and seals.Anyway my point is that after going to collect the car i noticed right away the revs were a lot lower than what the usually were and that there was physical shaking from the car.I decided to take it for a small run in the hope that it had maybe just been lying cold but as i drove back towards the garage the problem seemed worse(engine misifiring i presume).I explained to the owner that my car was in no way driving like this when i handed it in,and in fact was a pleasure to drive. After much discussion he went away to get the mechanic(this took him about 5 mins which i thought was a bit dodgy as the guy was only about 20 yds from him). The mechanic explained he had to take the distributor off to get to the seal and that he had'nt touched anything else and that he had properly marked it when re-assembling.To cut a long story shirt they currently still have my car but when i have phoned iam simply told the mechanic is still shaking his head at the problem which is of no bloody good to me.I would be interested to hear what everyone else thinks.Only had the car a fortnight and i really like it so now i just want it back in the state that it went into the garage.Cheers
