shady goings on at Ebay

I know it happens :angry2: and it drives me crazy I've been watching a few items simple things that if you could get at a bargin they would be great only to watch the price soar stupidly high :baring_teeth: and then be re-listed because they were "won" by the sellers friend (or some such) . When you look at the bid history these "friends have a history (sometimes as high as 80-90%) of bidding with a particular seller F%^%$%s ok rant over :arghhhh:

Report them to EBay for Shil bidding Get them banned

And they will have to pay the listing fees again aswell! I'm sure if you sell something and you know a certain person will pay more would you not bump up the price? I bl00dy would!!!!

I'm new to ebay but what about the "maximum bid" thing that ebay says you can use to avoid being outbid within the last few seconds? Doesn't that work? The whole ebay thing seems a bit dodgy anyway and I think best thing is never buy anything you a) really desperately need and b) don't spend more than you can afford to lose. Also how about starting this discussion in the volvo owner's group on ebay which CTCNetwork set up? Then you can tell us over there which sellers are doing this dodgy thing with their mates. Pete
